Kim Gibson named to IFAC International Ethics Standards Board

Kim Gibson, Global head - independence at Grant Thornton International Ltd has been named to the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants.

Kim will serve a two-year term commencing 1 January 2016 and is eligible for re-appointment for a maximum term of service of six years. She is responsible for the risk management operations for Grant Thornton International Ltd, including enterprise risk management, independence and international relationship checking.

The International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants is an independent standard-setting board that develops and issues, in the public interest, high-quality ethical standards and other pronouncements for professional accountants worldwide. Through its activities, they develop the Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants, which establishes ethical requirements for professional accountants.

The board also provides adoption and implementation support, promotes good ethical practices globally, and fosters international debate on ethical issues faced by accountants.
